A Big Building
Herbert Hoover is a huge place. It is at least twice as big as my old school.Getting around is a little bit of a hassle because of all the people moving around you in the halls. But I make it through and get to class on time.It was hard at first learning how to get to each of my classes and the quickest routes between them. But now I'm just fine. The scale of Herbert Hoover is great.Wandering down the wrong hall happened a lot during my first week at here at Hoover.I sure hope I don't get a class on the second floor because then I might go down the wrong staircase and come out on the opposite side of the school from where I need to be.This school is hard to navigate at first. But when you get to know the halls better you'll be getting to and from class with ease. This is Jayden signing off.

As I might have mentioned in class, I also went to Herbert Hoover as a student. I definitely agree with what you are saying! I thought the school was entirely too big and I spent the first few weeks overwhelmed with the size of the school, lockers, and massive amounts of homework. My classes were all over the building--they have done a much better job in recent years in trying to contain the classrooms for sixth graders. However, just like you, I learned to navigate my way and it made me a more independent person. I think that this is the biggest benefit of this type of transition--the creation of a more independent, mature person. This is Mrs. Patalano, signing off!
