Christmas Music

Everyone knows that when you hear Christmas music you know the holiday is near. When you hear this you better start shopping for gifts. Christmas music is always a sign to be prepared to have a good time with family. Christmas music is very cheerful and warms you up inside so much. But, after a while it gets a little annoying
 hearing it all.
I love the holidays. They are a time of love, joy, and happiness. No other holiday shows this more than Christmas. Christmas has many characteristics... trees, decorations, presents, and music. Christmas music is sweet and catchy and you should always play it. It's a great way to show your spirit. Just don't over do it. This happens all the time. People start playing holiday music way before they should. And in my family they play it over and over again. This applies not only to holidays. Holiday music should bring warmth to your heart, not annoy the heck out of you. It may seem OK to some people to play the music so much but to most it is annoying. So if you play holiday music go ahead with it, just take into mind other people.

My letter to SAnta Clause

This coming Christmas I hope you are able to brighten my smile with the gift of a PS3 under my Christmas tree. This would be a great addition to my entertainment ability of my house.  I have worked diligently in my life that I think I am worthy of this award.
Currently, In my house I have a Wii and a PS2.  I play my PS2 and Wii often, not just for my own entertainment but for that of my friends who come over.  But both of these game systems lack online multi-player.  This is something that the PS3 has.  Many of my friends have the PS3 and frequently go online  to play with other gamers.  My friends don’t come over often and I don’t go over to their houses often.  The PS3 would allow me to play video games with them more often.  I would be able to play with many more players then the PS2’s multi-player capacity of two.  Also the PS3’s wireless controller would be more convenient for me by not limiting me to the distance of the wired controller of the PS2.  Allowing people to walk in front of me and not risk tripping on the extended cord.
As a young gamer I tend to want to play more and more video games with my friends.  The high online multi-player capacity of the PS3 would allow me to play with my friends from the comfort of our own homes.  The PS3 would allow me to host matches of my own and meet new people.   It’s like Facebook, but we get to play video games while chatting.  Unfortunately my relatives have already bought me games for the PS3 and I would hate to see the look on their faces when I don’t have a PS3 and they spent money on games for nothing.  Having a PS3 would be a great way to make sure that my relatives money does not go to waste.
Around this time of year I know how you are flooded with requests and letters from children across the world. I hope that you will fulfill my request.  Even if you are unable to grant my wish, I am still thankful for all that you have brought me throughout my life.

The origins of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, every November 26th we celebrate it. We celebrate this holiday to give thanks for all the good things that happened to us over the past year. This all started back in 1620. The pilgrims left England to the New World, what we call America. During the summer of 1621 the pilgrims experienced a severe drought which threatened the corn crops. So they commissioned a day of fasting and prayer to please God so he would bring forth a bountiful harvest that coming harvest. God heard their prayers and it rained later that day, saving the crops.Later that year during harvest season the pilgrims organized a great feast to thank God for his favor. ( The rain that saved the crops.) And today we celebrate Thanksgiving by having a great meal with our families and thanking God for our blessings.

Gratitude

Everybody has to be thankful for at least one thing in their lives. I am thankful for many things. One thing I am very thankful for is my education. I am thankful for this because many people around the world don't have the opportunity to go to school and get an education. An education is one of the most important things that someone can have. Education is something that is needed in order to have a good job and be successful in life. But for  those who don't have an education, their future may not be as bright. So I am thankful that I am one of those who has an education and the opportunity to have a bright future.

Halloween Candy

Candy, candy, candy. That all that people think about this time of year, candy. Candy, the sweet little treats that our parents don't recomend buying. Halloween is what everybody waits for all year long. The time when kids go house to house getting candy, and that parents sit at home relaxing and being glad that today they don't have to hear the words," Can you buy me some candy?". But with my brother and others the next day when your at the store they ask," Can I have some candy?". But back to Halloween, you just wander around overloading your bag with candy. Halloween candy is special. It's the only candy covered in those special edition rappers. And when you get home you just try to eat it all and get the greatest sugar rush ever. But if you don't then you get a huge supply of candy to yourself. So if you want the most candy possible, on Sunday start trick or treating early to beat everyone else. Happy Holloween! Oh, and don't forget to enjoy your bounty.

Patriotism

In my mind patriotism still matters because it shows how much love and care we have for our country. Also it shows how much we honor our citizens in the armed forces.
We celebrate patriotism on two holidays. The Fourth of July and Veterans Day. Patriotism really stands out on Veteran’s Day. On this day we honor veterans by holding ceremonies and parades across the country. In this way we show them how grateful we are for their sacrifices in order to keep us free and safe. The soldiers that fight for us go into battle knowing that what they are doing is to keep our country safe. We should always remember that what they do is for us.
When I see the American flag with its red, white, and blue I am always reminded of veterans. Also three words come to mind, freedom, pride and strength. The United States and its people are strong, proud, and free. We will do anything to make sure our country stays free.
The United States fights a never ending battle against those who wish to destroy our freedom and pride but we will never give up no matter what the cost. I can’t imagine what our country would be like if we had nobody willing to defend us. Our country just wouldn’t be the same.
If the colonists didn’t stand up to Britain and preserver to win against impossible odd then we wouldn’t even be our own country. We’d probably be just a region under British rule. But we didn’t. We stood up for what we felt was right and didn’t give up during the revolution. Even in the face of certain defeat. I will always be thankful for all those men who suffered and died to make us free. When another attempt was made on our freedom we held firm. And in many other long terrible wars our forces held strong to defend our and others freedom.
Whenever I get the chance to honor our veterans I do. We should always show our patriotism to veterans and our country because that is the American spirit. It is our duty as Americans to honor our country and veterans. So next time you get the chance you should pray for our soldiers and honor all that United States has become.

My View

In Ralph Fletcher's story,he wrote about his childhood experience's.He gave stories about them.Memories.These were very important to him.

In "First Pen" Ralph Fletcher tells about a pen that was special to him.It was something he never forgot about. A particular sentence that caught my eye was "What words were hidden-unborn, unwritten-in all that unused ink? " ( Fletcher , 2005 , page 44 ) To me that sentence really stuck out.It leaves me with a feeling I can't describe.A strange feeling.

"Bobby" is a story  that leaves you very emotional at the end."Bobby" is a short story about Ralph  Fletcher's little brother Bobby.Unfortunately during his senior year of high school Bobby was killed in a car accident. The final sentence of the story leaves you with a feeling that you would feel if this tragety occured to someone in your family."Not a day goes by that I don't miss him.( Fletcher,2005,page 60 )

As shows he Ralph Fletcher is a great writer by using sophisticated writing techniques.

My Old Teddybear

I have an old teddy bear from when I was younger.Let me tell you a little bit about him.His name is Teddy, and I got him when I was three.I used to take him everywhere and I used to sleep with him every night up until I was eight years old.I even took him with me on my four trips to Hawaii. The reason he is most special to me because he was my first teddybear. Almost never did I go somewhere without my special Teddy.I once went to the Toys R'Us in New York City and rode the ferris wheel inside.I got scared when I looked over the edge of my cart, but because I had my teddybear with me I was comforted and was Ok until the end of the ride.Even though I don't use him now he is still special to me and is kept on a shelf in my room. Watching over me as I sleep. This is why my teddybear is special to me.This is Jayden signing off.

A Big Building

Herbert Hoover is a huge place. It is at least twice as big as my old school.Getting around is a little bit of a hassle because of all the people moving around you in the halls. But I make it through and get to class on time.It was hard at first learning how to get to each of my classes and the quickest routes between them. But now I'm just fine. The scale of Herbert Hoover is great.Wandering down the wrong hall happened a lot during my first week at here at Hoover.I sure hope I don't get a class on the second floor because then I might go down the wrong staircase and come out on the opposite side of the school from where I need to be.This school is hard to navigate at first. But when you get to know the halls better you'll be getting to and from class with ease. This is Jayden signing off.

Small Lockers

I thought having a locker would be great. As long a I had a big one.But I got a small locker. One of the smaller lockers is OK because there is enough space to put my things in but not enough space for each person in front of their locker both at the beginning and end of the day.Everyone just crowds together to get in their lockers and it becomes almost impossible to get your things unless you're kneeling in front of your locker at the front of the group. What I really don't like is the fact that the kids across the hall from us have the huge lockers. They get to stand and get get their things out of their lockers while others like me have to kneel. Also their are lockers like that that are unused .Why not give us some of those to clear up the space? If you have any comments or opinions please post them.I want to hear what you think.
